Moisture gradually returns by Friday morning, and it could help produce a few showers late Saturday evening
Colder, drier air returns to Alabama today... we are breezy all afternoon, but quiet for the remainder of the workweek!MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Chilly, dry weather headlines the forecast across the state over the next few days. We start early Thursday morning: many of you have easily slipped into the 30s during the overnight hours thanks to yesterday’s wind calming down a bit. We are waking up and walking out the door to near-freezing temperatures...
A cloudless sky will give us plenty of sunshine for Thursday, but it won’t help warm us much; Alabama as a whole will likely remain below average temperature wise today as afternoon temperature only max out in the mid 50s.
The cold blast to end the week will be short lived. Highs are right back in the 60s this weekend with overnight lows warming into the 40s, which is near normal! There is also a low end chance for a few showers Saturday night into Sunday morning, as a quick moving system pushes across the region. The latest data suggest that the majority of the rain with this system will stay just north of us, but we will keep watching and updating the forecast as needed. As of right now, weekend plans should be good to go, but keep your First Alert weather app handy for free interactive radar and updated forecast videos.
Saturday features more clouds than sunshine, but it’s still a good day to be outside; evening and overnight showers stay mostly in northern Alabama, but scattered activity is possible for a few of our counties through early Sunday morning.Alabama Power says customers soon to see lower ratesWhen we say temperatures struggle to warm, we mean it...
