Fired CBS Host Lands Shock New Hollywood Gig

The TV veteran is set to create the next chapter in one of the world’s biggest fantasy franchises.

Stephen Colbert has bagged a major Hollywood gig just weeks before CBS airs his final late-night episode.director Peter Jackson made the announcement in a joint video statement released by the studio. Jackson, 64, said a “very special partner” will develop the next film after, an upcoming addition to the series coming in 2027.

Two years later, Colbert said he finally struck up the “courage” to bring the film to Jackson. The late-night host said he “could not be happier” to announce that the executives at Warner Bros.
