The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office said the victim has been tentatively identified Monday morning as a 4-year-old girl but did not release the name. The county received an emergency call shortly after 9 a.m. for a structure fire in the 17900 block of Sheperd Road, east of Lytle. First responders from the Lytle Fire Department and Emergency Service Districts 2 and 5 found a trailer home engulfed in flames, and learned that someone was trapped inside, according to a county news release.
“Rescue attempts while the fire was being fought had to be delayed due to the intensity of the fire, which led to one firefighter’s injury. He was treated at the scene,” the county said.
