None of the residents of the apartment were home at the time of the fire, officials said.
An apartment in Aurora has been deemed uninhabitable after a Nov. 1 fire, Aurora Fire Department officials said. At 11:39 p.m. Nov. 1, Aurora Central Dispatch received a 911 call reporting smoke coming from a two-story multi-unit apartment building in the 1400 block of North Glen Circle, according to press release from the Aurora Fire Department. Upon arrival, firefighters found the apartment building with smoke showing and smoke-stained windows on the rear of the structure.
Firefighters forced a door open to one of the apartments where smoke was encountered and began to search for the fire, according to the release. They found a fire in the kitchen of the apartment, officials said. None of the residents of the apartment were home at the time of the fire, according to the release. The apartment was deemed uninhabitable and the residents were said to be staying with family, according to the release.
