An Aurora man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for disseminating child pornography via social media, according to a press release from the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Gabriel M. Martinez, 30, of the 900 block of Pearl Street, agreed to the sentence in exchange for a guilty plea to the offense of child pornography, a Class X felony, according to the release. Kane County Judge Julia Yetter accepted the plea, officials said.
Prosecutors in court said that prior to Sept. 8, 2022, Martinez disseminated via social media a video containing a child younger than 13 years old engaged in a sexual act, according to the release. In addition to the prison term, Martinez must register for life as a sexual offender in accordance with the Illinois Sexual Offender Registration Act.
