The fire at Lake Chabot Golf Course in Oakland started at around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2023. The fire department says the hilly, wooded location meant a wildfire was a risk. “They did a really good job fighting the fire aggressively, preventing it from extending into the vegetation,” the Oakland Fire Department's Michael HughesThe fire was extinguished approximately halfway through the building, saving the pro shop, Hughes said.40 Firefighters extinguished a large fire at the Lake Chabot Golf Course clubhouse overnight.
