The property owner, Thach Nguyen spoke with KOMO News and said the goal was to sell the units and donate the money to a non-profit called the "Rave Foundation" which is run by the Seattle Sounders to help underprivileged kids. That money was going to help build 26 soccer fields around the city. Nguyen said this fire has created a big delay and now they’re having to start the project from scratch.
