Three people lost their lives in a devastating multi-vehicle collision that occurred in Mesa, Arizona, on Monday morning, February 3rd. The tragic incident unfolded shortly before 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of Val Vista Drive and Southern Avenue. According to the Mesa Police Department, a Ford F250 pickup truck, reported stolen from Gilbert, was traveling northbound on Val Vista Drive when it collided head-on with a Nissan Armada. A third vehicle was also caught in the ensuing chaos.

Troy Garlock, a 42-year-old man driving the Nissan Armada, also succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two young girls, aged 8 and 6, were passengers in the Nissan Armada. They were immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where the 8-year-old girl sadly passed away from her injuries. The 6-year-old girl remains hospitalized in critical condition. The driver of the third vehicle involved in the crash sustained minor injuries. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the driver of the stolen pickup truck or the deceased 8-year-old girl. However, investigators believe that excessive speed played a significant role in the collision. A witness who resides in the area reported hearing one of the vehicles traveling at an alarming speed of at least 80 miles per hour prior to the impact. The witness, Meshach Fletcher, recounted the harrowing experience, stating, 'Within seconds, within seconds, I heard the ‘vroom, vroom,’ and then within three more seconds it was over, it was over for everybody.' Due to the severity of the crash, Val Vista Drive is currently closed between Southern and Hampton as authorities continue their investigation
