A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Hayward, California, on Tuesday morning. Police are searching for the driver who fled the scene.
Officers were called to the intersection of Miami Avenue and Coronado Street around 6 a.m. for a report of a man down in the roadway, the Hayward Police Department said in a news release. They arrived to find a man suffering from injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle, police said. He was transported to an area hospital, where he died of his injuries.
No drivers were found at the scene, and police believe the person responsible for the deadly crash left the area before a passerby discovered the man
