A 24-year-old man is expected to appear in court in connection with the fatal shooting of a student
The family of a student who was fatally shot in Mpumalanga over the weekend wants justice. The incident happened during a Fresher’s Ball event at the Barberton TVET College. Two other students sustained gunshot wounds.
The electrical engineering student was shot and killed, allegedly by a man known to him. It is alleged that the suspect randomly shot at the students and patrons who were attending the college’s Fresher’s Ball. “I am very hurt by what happened. I am emotionally drained, what hurts me the most is that I was told to come and clean the blood where he was killed inside the school. After that, they started rumours saying he was killed outside the campus. If he was killed outside I would have been called to come clean here at school.”
