Ever since four-time state championship coach Andrea Robinson left DeSoto for Faith Family, top girls basketball recruits are flocking to the charter school.

“After visiting with several coaches who have lost kids to Faith Family over the last few weeks, it appears Faith Family will have a complete new roster next season,” said Chance Westmoreland, coach of the six-time state champion Argyle girls basketball team. “The kids transferring to Faith Family are 6A all-state/all-region players who all made successful playoff runs with their programs last season. Now, they will get to play 5A Division II basketball.
“It’s just frustrating for coaches who are doing it right and working hard to build up kids in their attendance zone, and for them to be swayed away by other people,” Kaufman girls basketball coach Amy Ingram said. “No, we don’t play a national schedule. No, we can’t travel all around the country. But the experiences we can give you ... what high school coaches did for me ... you can’t put a price on that.
