When being sworn in by Borough Clerk April Trickey, public officials can choose to put their hand on a bible, but it is not required.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - On Thursday, the Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly will gather for their regular session.
This process traditionally happens without controversy. According to Borough Clerk April Trickey, “For the municipal regular election, it’s always been unanimous.” At the November 14 meeting, these roles are solidified with a vote. “After that’s done, the new Presiding Officer will actually appoint members to the Assembly to the different committees," she explained.
