LONDON - British Prime Minister Theresa May has said she will stand down once her Brexit deal with Brussels is approved by parliament and the government has said it hopesLawmakers are due to vote on legislation to ratify May’s Brexit deal in early June. But her deal has already been rejected three times and if this bill is voted down too, it is likely to spell the end of May’s premiership.

Candidates putting themselves forward for the leadership must be nominated by two other Conservative lawmakers. A large number of Conservatives appear to be jostling to replace MayConservatives lawmakers then hold several rounds of votes to whittle down the number of candidates. Each time they are asked to vote for their favoured candidate in a secret ballot, and the person with the fewest votes is eliminated.
