MELAKA: The new Melaka executive committee will comprise both Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan lawmakers, says new Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.
He said there would be a fair distribution of portfolios between Barisan and Pakatan representatives in the state."I am in the midst of drafting the framework for a unity state government.
"Wait and see – the exco line-up will be an exemplary case of what a unity government should be," he said after a walkabout at the Klebang Ramadan bazaar here on Saturday , adding that the new line-up would reflect togetherness and unity. Ab Rauf said he would draw up the names within the 48-hour time frame as promised but would only announce the names and portfolios once Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi gives it the green light.The two coalitions have formed unity governments in Perak and Pahang.On another matter, Ab Rauf said he was not keen on"going on the warpath" with Rembia assemblyman Datuk Muhammad Jailani Khamis.
