Chihayafuru, the popular manga and anime series based on the traditional Japanese card game of karuta, is set to make a comeback with a new live-action drama titled Chihayafuru - Meguri. Premiering in Japan this June, the series will follow the lives of high school students dedicated to competitive karuta, 10 years after the original story. Created with the next generation of stars and overseen by original creator Yuki Suetsugu, Chihayafuru - Meguri promises to be a new milestone in youth dramas. The success of Chihayafuru has spanned multiple formats, including manga, anime, stage adaptations, and live-action films, reviving interest in karuta and propelling it into the mainstream.
