The winning ticket was sold at a service station located in the hills north of Los Angles.
So there’s an NFL connection to the record $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot that was hit in Southern California after going more than three months without anyone hitting it.
The winning numbers were picked Tuesday morning, nearly 10 hours after the scheduled Monday night drawing because of problems processing sales data at one of the game’s member lotteries. That winning ticket was traced back to Joe’s Service Center in Altadena, California. The business is owned by Joe Chahayed, the father-in-law of former NFL defensive tackle Domata Peko, who played 15 season for four teams.
