A former central Pa. drug task force officer has received a county prison sentence for stealing seized drug money and falsifying deposit records in task force investigations. John Burkhart, who used to lead the Lancaster County Drug Task Force, will serve an 8-22 month prison sentence in the Adams County Prison for stealing $171,000 from seized drug money between 2015 and 2020. He will pay $140,000 in restitution, according to the Lancaster County Clerk of Courts.by failing to make required disposition of funds, according to the office of attorney general.
