From Pokémon and Fire Emblem to Mario and Splatoon, here's every Nintendo game announced for 2026 so far.
Nintendo launched a brand-new console in 2025 in the Nintendo Switch 2, and promptly followed it up with a steady flow of new video game releases, including “Mario Kart World,“ “Pokémon Legends: Z-A,“ and “Donkey Kong Bananza.
“ Heading into 2026, the gaming giant already has a host of games announced for both the Nintendo Switch 2 and its predecessor, including new entries in some of its most beloved series. Mario Tennis Fever “Mario Tennis Fever” is the latest game in the Mario Tennis series, following up from the Nintendo Switch’s “Mario Tennis Aces.“ The newest game in the series features the biggest character lineup in the series’ history, new abilities, and Fever Rackets, which have special effects that can affect the field and incapacitate opponents. “Mario Tennis Fever” will be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2 on Feb. 12, 2026. Pokémon Pokopia “Pokémon Pokopia“ is a Pokémon spinoff that sees players taking on the role of a helpful Ditto, capable of transforming into any number of other Pokémon. The game will have players crafting a cute little town, inviting other Pokémon to move in, and befriending them to learn new abilities and expand further. It’s expected to be a fairly big hit, combining the best of “Pokémon,“ “Animal Crossing,“ and “Minecraft.“ “Pokémon Pokopia” will be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2 on March 5, 2026. Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park “Super Mario Bros. Wonder” was widely acclaimed upon its release on the Nintendo Switch in 2023, achieving a metascore of 92/100 on review score aggregator Metacritic and selling over 16 million copies. The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of the game includes new features and enhancements exclusive to the Switch 2 to make the most of the console’s improved hardware. It also comes with a new expansion, subtitled “Meetup in Bellabel Park,” which brings new levels for players to enjoy. “Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park” will be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring 2026. Yoshi and the Mysterious Book “Yoshi and the Mysterious Book” is the next game in the Yoshi series of platformers, following up from “Yoshi’s Crafted World” and “Yoshi’s Woolly World” on the Switch and Wii U, respectively. The game sees Yoshi stepping into an enchanted encyclopedia to search for creatures and characters, utilizing abilities obtained from enemies. Each chapter of the game has its own unique creatures and mechanics, and the game itself has an interesting stop motion-like animation style. “Yoshi and the Mysterious Book” will be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch in Spring 2026. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream “Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream” is a sequel to the cult hit “Tomodachi Life” for the Nintendo 3DS, which saw a decent amount of success with over 6 million copies sold over its life on the market. The game is a social simulation game that sees players creating Mii characters and moving them onto an island, then observing and influencing their behaviors and social interactions. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream will be released on the Nintendo Switch in Spring 2026. Rhythm Heaven Groove The sixth installment in the “Rhythm Heaven” series, “Rhythm Heaven Groove” is a rhythm-based game filled with a host of musical minigames to complete. The series is known for its eclectic styling and unique rhythm gameplay mechanics, and this entry looks to be the same. “Rhythm Heaven Groove” will be released on the Nintendo Switch in 2026. Pokémon Champions “Pokémon Champions” is a competitive-focused battle simulator that closely follows the turn-based combat seen in the main series Pokémon games. The game will be used for the Pokémon World Championships in 2026, and will feature multiple past and present battle mechanics, including Terastallization, Mega Evolution, Dynamax, and more. “Pokémon Champions” will be released on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices before the World Championships in August 2026. Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave The latest in a long line of turn-based strategy RPGs, “Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave” will see players controlling a host of characters through the “Heroic Games,“ which appears to be some kind of gladiator-style contest. Not much else is known about the game, but it seems to be related to the fan favorite “Fire Emblem: Three Houses.“ “Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave” will be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. Splatoon Raiders Not much is known about “Splatoon Raiders” at this point, with the only piece of information for the game released so far being a short trailer released in the Nintendo Today app. The game is said to be a spinoff in the Splatoon series, and will see players exploring the mysterious Spirhalite Islands alongside “Splatoon 3” idol group Deep Cut. No release date for “Splatoon Raiders” has been announced.
