Erik ten Hag has lost eight of Man Utd's 15 matches so far this season and is on shaky ground, one pundit says.
Paul Merson says Erik ten Hag is at risk of losing his job at Manchester United amid a “toxic” environment, as he says the Glazers face a tricky decision following the club’s poor start to the season.
He believes the Dutchman has lost the confidence of his players and says the owners have a decision to make. “For me he is under severe pressure and they’ve got to have a meeting to see what they can do,” Merson said of Ten Hag and United. Jadon Sancho is still exiled from first-team activities for refusing to apologise for his public rebuttal of Ten Hag amid his axing from the squad against Arsenal in early September. Merson says the saga needs a resolution but is more concerned about what is happening on the pitch at the moment.
“If it wasn’t for a last minute penalty save against Copenhagen, they would have drawn at home against Copenhagen. Come on, let’s get serious there."
