Watch as the Cleveland Browns select top-3 prospect Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders with the 144th-overall pick after Sanders slid to Round 5 of the 2025 NFL Draft.

DAVID MUNDEE ENTERPRISE – Despite a couple of mistakes on defense, the Enterprise Wildcats softball team delivered a near-complete game on Saturday against Dothan, even through a rain and lightning delay of two hours and 12 minutes.

The Wildcats earned 12 hits and scored in four of six innings on offense, while pitcher Gracyn Snell allowed only one unearned run and seven hits over seven innings and the defense, with exception of errors on two plays, was solid during a 9-1 win over the Wolves in a winner’s bracket game in the Class 7A, Area 3 Tournament at the EHS campus. “We played lights out,” Enterprise head coach Kate Stump said. “Our offense was where it needed to be. Gracyn shut them down for the most part. I was really happy with all three facets of the game – offense, defense and pitching.” The win pushed Enterprise into the area tournament championship as the unbeaten. Dothan , which won 18-0 over J.A.G. after losing to Enterprise, must beat the Wildcats twice to win the area title. Regardless of the outcome, both teams will advance to the Central Regional Tournament at Montgomery’s Lagoon Park on Tuesday, May 6. “Even after getting these two wins, you have to flush it and move on,” Stump said. “It is all about the next game from here on out. "With postseason play, it is important to win the championship to play the two seed at the regional, but at the end of the day, I believe in our team, and it doesn’t matter who we match-up with and when. However, it would be nice to take home a championship.” The two teams rolled to convincing wins in the opening round with Enterprise beating Carver 16-0 and Dothan defeating J.A.G. 15-0.Enterprise 9, Dothan 1While the Wildcats finished with 12 hits, the top three hitters in the Wildcats lineup did most of the damage, accounting for seven hits, seven runs scored and two runs batted in. Addie Reagan was 3-for-3 with a hit by pitch and scored four runs. Ansley Reeves and Addy Whaley were both 2-for-4 with an RBI each and Reeves scored three times. “They set the table for sure for us,” Stump said. “Addie Reagan, our lead-off, had a heck of a day. All three of her hits were with two strikes and that just shows how resilient she is. "She doesn’t care how many strikes she has on her, she is always going to press on and find a way to get on base. She did a phenomenal job.” Enterprise struck for two runs in the bottom of the first. Reagan opened the inning with an opposite-field single to left and Reeves followed with a run-scoring double in the left-center field gap. Whaley grounded out to the pitcher, but a throw from the first baseman to try and get Reeves at third went past, allowing Reeves to score. With two outs, Jada Newman reached on an infield single on a high bouncer off the glove of Enterprise’s Snell, who made a leaping effort on the play. Makenna Descalzi then singled to right-center and the center fielder had the ball go off her glove to the right, allowing Newman to race around to score. Enterprise increased its lead in the bottom of the third. Reagan was hit by a pitch and stole second. Reeves singled to left and the ball was missed by the left fielder, allowing Reagan to race home to make it 3-1 and Reeves to move to second. Whaley hit a hard grounder in the shortstop hole that Dothan shortstop Jadyn Hutchins had go off her glove. She recovered and threw to third and had Reeves out, but the ball was dropped by the third baseman during the tag, allowing Reeves to reach safely. Josie Thompson then unloaded what appeared to be a three-run homer to right-center field but Whaley was ruled out for missing a base on appeal resulting in the play being a two-run homer. Dothan came up in the top of the fourth and Brantlee McCarthy singled past third to open the inning, but rain started coming down harder and the game was pushed into a rain delay. It later became a lightning delay. Two innings after resuming, Enterprise earned three runs in the fifth. Reagan, leading off an inning for the third time in the game, double to left. Reeves reached on an infield error and Whaley followed with a run-scoring single. After a fly out, Lee Lott and Mackenzie Reagan delivered back-to-back run-scoring singles to make it 8-1. The Wildcats’ Addie Reagan scored in the sixth, reaching on a high bouncing infield single, stealing second and scoring on a bad throw to first.Dothan’s seven-hit attack was led by McCarthy and Descalzi, who both had two hits. Dothan 18, J.A.G. 0The first 14 Dothan batters reached safely during a 15-run first inning as the Wolves won easily in three innings. Makenna Descalzi had a two-run inside-the-park homer and an RBI double and Savanna Kendrick had two triples, driving in one run. Brantlee McCarthy had an RBI triple, Jadyn Hutchins a two-run single and Ashlynn Sasser an RBI double.Newman, Kendrick and Hutchins finished with three hits each with Hutchins driving in four runs. Kendrick pitched a three-inning no-hitter with seven strikeouts. An error in the second inning prevented a perfect game. Dothan 15, J.A.G. 0In the tournament opener, Dothan scored in all four innings, including five in the first, four in the third and four in the fifth.
