Across Enterprise City Schools, kindergartners have spent the past week learning their colors.
Color Days are here for kindergarten classrooms across Enterprise, but students are learning just as much about healthy food habits as they are their colors.ENTERPRISE, Ala. - Blueberries were given for “Blue Day,” Kiwis for “Brown Day,” Cauliflowers for “Black/White Day,” etc.
One study by the USDA reports that students participating in the Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Program eat more fresh produce than students who are not. There, teachers use the food to teach lessons. ”The Fresh Fruits and Vegetable Grant is an educational tool for the classrooms. The fruits and vegetables are distributed in the classroom, so we want the children to learn to grab those healthy fruit and vegetables as they grow up,” said Dillard.
