Dothan City Schools, Houston County Schools, and Henry County Schools kick off the new school year with a punch.
Skylar Celeste Boone More than 2,000 teachers and school staff members from Dothan City Schools, Houston County Schools, and Henry County Schools gathered at the Dothan Civic Center Thursday for Wiregrass Institute to kick off the upcoming school year.
Leonard spoke about power, dreams and determination. His message to the room was to dream a dream, be determined, do the road work, stay in control, getting up from a knockout and risk. He encouraged teachers to do the roadwork and to go the extra mile. By preparing, you create a reservoir of strength to tap into but must do your version of roadwork to go the distance, Leonard said.
For his last few points he shared how important it is to stay in control because losing your composure is disastrous in all parts of life. Also that when you get knocked down, you need to get back up.Following Leonard, Ivey offered words of support.
