DAVID MUNDEE The Enterprise boys wrestling team went 4-1 and captured third place at the Hoover Turkey Duals at Hoover High School on Tuesday.
The Wildcats finished the tournament with the most tech fall victories, the second most pins and the second most points during individual matches. Karter Stiffler, competing in the 120-pound weight class, won his opener by forfeit then won matches by 9-4, 17-2 and 11-9 decisions before winning his final match on a second-period pin.
Sigmon, wrestling in the 165-pound weight class, won four matches by pinfall, three coming in the first period. His other win was a 19-4 tech fall decision. Whiteside, competing at 190 pounds, won his opener by forfeit then earned four straight first-period pins with 1:05 the longest match.Three Enterprise wrestlers finished the day with a 4-1 record with all three winning every match except against Hoover. The three were Harvy Kahle , Bayani Galvez and Ty Gilbert .
