Nani, Lilo, and Stitch surfing in 'Lilo & Stitch'
Disney’s latest live-action remake, Lilo & Stitch, just debuted in theaters. The film is about to leave its messy paw prints all over the box office on its potentially historic holiday opening weekend.
In the build up to the new adaptation, Stitch has reclaimed the merchandise landscape with new apparel collections, Funko Pops and action figures. Now, as this lovable blue furball sets a new gold standard for Disney reimaginings, NECA has unveiled their latest music-filled Stitch figure. A part of NECA’s popular seven-inch-scale Ultimate line, this new three-inch-tall figure is Gold Suit Elvis Stitch. Of course, Elvis is Lilo and Stitch's favorite rock ‘n' roll icon. This Stitch is fitted with Elvis' signature hairdo and a gold suit to match. He also has a microphone stand, ready to bring the house down. If that wasn't enough to get Disney fans singing “Suspicious Minds”, the figure includes interchangeable heads, hands, additional hair pieces, eye plates and a guitar as well. Elvis Stitch will be $34.99 USD. This figure now joins NECA's massive Lilo & Stitch collection. In the past, the company has released bobble heads and other Elvis Stitch-related merchandise. Lilo, Stitch, and the King of Rock ‘n' Roll Close Whether you're watching the animated original or the live-action remake, a big theme in Lilo & Stitch is the music. Specifically, how music connects us to the people we love. For Lilo, her sister Nani, and Stitch, that leads to a shared passion for Elvis Presley. The King of Rock 'n' Roll’s music is all over the franchise. This includes the various montages in both versions, the background posters/pictures and Stitch’s costume changes. Elvis is one of the core elements in the series’ DNA. That has made Elvis Stitch just as marketable as the normal version of the character. Alongside this new NECA figure, this musically inclined version has also been turned into plushies and seen at places like Build-a-Bear. There are already rumblings of a sequel to the live-action remake in the works, so this definitely won't be the last time we see Elvis Stitch in the wild.
