Four fire engines, two water tankers, a rescue vehicle, and 26 staff members were dispatched to the incident.
Three people died in three separate fires in informal settlements in Cape Town in the early hours of Sunday morning, the City of Cape Town said.
Upon arrival of the first appliance the officer in charge made an assessment and stood down four responding vehicles, as he only required a water tanker to assist him. Fire and rescue services also responded to informal structures alight in Kosovo informal settlement in Philippi. The response comprised of three fire engines, two water tankers, a rescue vehicle, and 21 staff members, Carelse said.
