Other figures on this year’s list included former PresidentIn his tribute to Hurts, Jeter, who won five World Series titles, praised the quarterback for rebounding from his team’s Super Bowl LVII loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, winning his first Vince Lombardi Trophy and earning MVP honors in Super Bowl LIX.
“This past February, Jalen found himself on the Super Bowl stage again,” Jeter said. “This time he led Philadelphia to a convincing victory in its rematch with Kansas City. We connected shortly after, and the only thing he asked about was insight on going back and winning again. Sometimes people win, then exhale. Jalen is not exhaling. He’s embracing the next challenge. Win or lose, Jalen’s resilience and determination offer all of us something to admire.” Speaking to Jeter was not the first encounter Hurts has had with a player who has won multiple championships. Hurts met with former Chicago Bulls guard Michael Jordan this offseason.
