Sean Dyche was quizzed about Everton transfers as the club pursue a deal for Che Adams
Sean Dyche said he is “waiting on news” as work continues to strengthen his squad in the transfer market.
Everton have reportedly made a fresh bid for Southampton striker Che Adams after an initial offer was turned down this weekend. When asked, Dyche did not deny knowledge of a bid but refused to talk about any specific players, adding: “We are in for a number of situations, whether they can come into fruition, I am waiting on news.”
The club is known to be seeking an experienced striker to bridge the gap between the youth of Youssef Chermiti and the quality of Dominic Calvert-Lewin. That search took on fresh necessity at Aston Villa as Calvert-Lewin lasted just 36 minutes on his return to the side. Dyche said his injury, a facial issue suffered in a collision with Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, is hoped to be just a knock.
He later added: “These deals at the minute, I am waiting for news - any deals, that is not about Che Adams, that is any deals. We are in for a number of situations, whether they can come into fruition, I am waiting on news."
