Be careful what you do with your documentation
The Driving, Vehicle and Licensing Agency has issued a warning to UK motorists to avoid a mistake that could cost them thousands.
This is due to the cost of cars going up and people turning to buying second-hand in order to save money. However, the DVLA has warned about these sales and sharing your V5C to others. The main issue with sharing your documentation is because of identity theft, which happens when fraudsters are able to access enough information about someone's identity.
Criminals can use the information to make cloned licence plates as the information is vital to make a new number plate up. Motorists have also been scammed by people coming to look at cars being sold second-hand.
