Powerhouse Panthers host Wildcats in 6A Division I playoff showdown

The Temple Wildcats will travel to Reginald Samples Field at Panther Stadium on Friday night for a UIL Texas Football State Championships 6A Division I bi-district playoff matchup against the powerhouse Duncanville Panthers . Coach Samples’ Panthers, who have been a fixture in the state’s final four in recent years, enter as heavy favorites but face a Temple squad that has shown resilience throughout the regular season. The Wildcats will need to contain Duncanville’s explosive offense while finding ways to move the ball against one of the state’s most athletic defenses. With championship aspirations on the line, this first-round playoff contest represents an opportunity for Temple to make a statement against one of Texas high school football’s elite programs, while Duncanville looks to begin another deep postseason run toward the state title that narrowly eluded them last season.
