Initial investigations suggest that the dump truck , carrying rocks and dirt, was traveling downhill on 71st Street when the driver lost control. The vehicle careened into the southbound lanes of Tonnelle Avenue, striking the tractor-trailer before smashing through the side wall of the Target around 2:30 p.m.
Security footage obtained by Eyewitness News captured the harrowing moment of impact. Officials believe the tractor-trailer collision mitigated the severity of the crash, potentially preventing further casualties. Among the injured were a woman who was extricated from a Target bathroom and the dump truck driver, who sustained minor injuries. All victims were transported to hospitals, but the extent of their injuries remains unknown.
