A large brush fire near Waterville in Gulf Shores was reported Tuesday, with fire danger expected to continue through the end of the week and into the weekend. Drought conditions continue to worsen across the area, particularly at the beaches. Residents should remain vigilant and report any signs of fire activity to local authorities. High temperatures will hover around 80° Monday through Thursday, warming into the mid-80s by Friday. Overnight lows will settle around 60°. No rain is expected through the end of the week, extending a concerning dry stretch that has left the area with a rainfall deficit exceeding 7 inches for the year. The weekend will bring slightly cooler conditions, with highs in the mid to upper 70s Saturday and Sunday as a light northeast breeze moves in. Dry conditions will persist into early next week.Pollen levels will remain extremely high during daytime hours throughout the week, making it a challenging period for allergy sufferers.
