Dry conditions are causing a rise in wildfires throughout Alabama.
In the last month, the Alabama Forestry Commission has seen 116 fires that burned more than 850 acres, but 68 of those fires and 680 of those acres have been from the last week.“We’d rather get a call early and get out there and be able to put out a small fire with an extinguisher or water can before it gets large and we have to call in multiple resources and it just becomes a bigger problem,” said Sgt. Jason Cupps with the Prattville Fire Department.
