One driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision in North Hollywood has turned himself in to police. The crash killed 26-year-old Ravenna Leyva, and authorities are still searching for the second driver involved.

Police have announced that at least one of the two drivers involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision in North Hollywood last Friday has surrendered to authorities this week. The accident occurred around 9:40 p.m. near the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Troost Avenue. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a 26-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle, causing her to fall into the street.

As she lay in the roadway, a second car traveling on Victory Boulevard subsequently collided with her. This second car was described as a light blue or gray 2003 Toyota 4Runner. Investigators state that the second impact led to the woman's death. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later identified her as Ravenna Leyva of Sylmar. On Tuesday afternoon, at approximately 4:30 p.m., detectives from the LAPD Valley Traffic Division reported that the driver of the Toyota had turned himself in at a station in Panorama City. He has been identified as 33-year-old Ryan Antonio Gomez Cifuentes. Upon his arrest, he was taken into custody on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. Detectives are presently continuing their search for the second driver involved in the crash. Information regarding that individual's vehicle has not yet been released. The LAPD urges anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact detectives at (818) 644-8033
