The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirmed Friday the name of the driver of an inmate transport van that crashed, killing two and injuring five others Wednesday evening.

ALEA said Jones was behind the wheel of the 2014 Ford Econoline van, owned by the Alabama Department of Corrections, when it left the roadway and struck a tree around 5:30 p.m. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition. ADOC Commissioner John Hamm extended his condolences to Crayton’s and Clements’s family and friends saying, “Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.”
