A 45-year-old man from Sewell, New Jersey, was arrested after allegedly crashing his car into a Philadelphia police cruiser in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex. The incident occurred Sunday evening shortly before fans were leaving a playoff game.

A Philadelphia police officer sustained injuries after a vehicle collided with a police cruiser in the Sports Complex area of South Philadelphia on Sunday evening. The incident occurred at approximately 5:45 p.m. at 1000 Pattison Avenue, located between Lincoln Financial Field and Citizens Bank Park. This took place shortly before a large influx of Eagles fans would have been leaving the stadium following the Sunday divisional round playoff game.

According to police reports, the driver, identified as 45-year-old Thomas Herrschaft of Sewell, New Jersey, was operating a black Mercedes sedan without displaying any registration plates. Herrschaft is alleged to have disregarded barriers and numerous Philadelphia police vehicles, endangering pedestrians crossing the street. Police investigators state that when Herrschaft's car was blocked by police vehicles on both sides, he reversed his vehicle and forcefully crashed into a Philadelphia police cruiser. A social media video, now included in the ongoing police investigation, captured the chaotic events. Herrschaft faces charges of driving without a license, DUI, and accident caused by DUI
