Dozens left homeless after apartment complex fire in Dauphin County

The fire started just before 1 p.m. on Thursday at Willow Gardens in Highspire, fire officials said.

Crews departments arrived at the two-story apartment row to find fire shooting out, officials said. The fire started in the middle of a row of 14 homes and spread across the roof to others, according to Dauphin County dispatch. The Dauphin County Fire Investigation Team believes the fire was electrical and accidental, starting inside an exterior wall.

Almost 20 fire departments reported to the scene, as crews from Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon and York counties were called to help. The Air National Guard Fire Department also was at the scene.
