The Dothan Regional Airport closed runways on Tuesday afternoon because of snow and the threat of ice.“Hopefully, we’ll be able to reopen at that time. It will depend on ice,” Hartzog told News4. Delta Airlines canceled all flights in and out of Dothan on Tuesday except for the early one that departed on time. Delta also canceled the 6:00 a.m. flight on Wednesday.
Flight concerns extend far beyond Dothan. Delta canceled flights to more than a dozen commercial airports that are ill-equipped to deal with snow and ice, which is extremely rare in south Alabama.
