DAVID MUNDEE The Dothan Dixie 14U all-star boys routed the South Carolina champions 10-2 on Monday to stay alive in the Dixie Boys World Series in Beaufort, S.C.
In Monday’s game against Tri-County, S.C., Dothan pitchers William Mitchell and Maddox Pettis combined to limit South Carolina to two unearned runs and two hits. Mitchell pitched 3 2/3 innings of shutout ball, allowing four hits. He struck out one and walked one. Pettis worked the final 3 1/3 innings, giving up the two unearned runs on two hits, while striking out two.
