An automated license plate reader alerted Shaker Heights police to a man wanted on a warrant for a felony offense. The man would not stop his car for police sirens and overhead lights and drove on into Warrensville Heights.
Shaker Heights police arrested for drunk driving a Maple Heights man whose car was traveling well below the speed limit at Lee and South Woodland roads.At 2:15 p.m. Jan. 17, officers arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and receiving stolen property a 19-year-old Cleveland man.
Police responded to a report of a disturbance in the 3000 block of Menlo Road. There, they learned that the man, who was driving a Nissan vehicle while delivering for DoorDash, had a loaded 9mm firearm concealed in his car. The gun had been reported stolen from the city of Maple Heights.At 11:45 p.m. Jan. 16, officers arrested for OVI a 32-year-old Beachwood man who was seen driving his heavily damaged Kia vehicle without activated headlights in the area of Latimore and Newell roads.Officers summoned medical attention. The man refused to provide a biological sample at a local hospital.At 3:35 p.m. Jan. 17, officers arrested a 53-year-old Bedford man who was found smelling of alcohol and exhibiting signs of impairment while behind the wheel of a stopped, but operating Chevrolet vehicle.The man submitted a breath-alcohol sample of .244, well above the state minimum for drunk driving of .08. He was additionally charged with having a prohibited blood-alcohol content.The man was seen driving his Dodge vehicle at speeds well below the posted speed limit while in the area of Lee and South Woodland roads.He submitted a breath-alcohol sample of .146. He will additionally be charged with having a prohibited BAC.At 2 a.m. Jan. 18, officers arrested a 56-year-old Cleveland man for obstructing official business and failing to comply with a lawful order after learning from an autmated license plate reader that the driver of a Chevrolet vehicle was wanted for a felony offense. Officers attempted to stop the car in the area of Norwood and Warrensville Center roads. The man, however, failed to yield for officers’ overhead lights and siren and traveled into the city of Warrensville Heights.At 4:05 a.m. Jan. 18, police arrested for OVI a Cleveland man, 34. Officers saw the man driving his heavily damaged vehicle without activated lights in the area of Chagrin Boulevard and Hildana Road.The man failed field sobriety tests. He refused to submit a breath-alcohol sample.
