A video circulating online shows a dog in a precarious situation on the back of a speeding trailer, prompting an investigation by Indiana State Police.
Indiana State Police are investigating a disturbing video posted online Tuesday that shows a dog in distress on the back of a speeding trailer. The video, which has garnered over 120,000 views, has ignited widespread concern for the animal's wellbeing. Ryan Jackson, the individual who captured the footage, stated that he was traveling on I-80/I-94 near Calumet Avenue when he observed an SUV towing a trailer.
On the trailer's rear, a dog was confined within a cage lacking any protection from the biting wind or additional cushioning. The cage itself was unsecured and not properly fastened. \Jackson asserted that the SUV, bearing Indiana license plates, was traveling at a reckless speed of 70 to 80 miles per hour. In the video, the dog can be seen visibly shifting uncomfortably as the trailer traverses a bump in the road. 'It definitely didn't look in great shape,' Jackson remarked. 'I was shivering in my video, so you could see it, you know, kind of vividly. You know, it had some nap in its hair here and there. It definitely looked like a dog that has spent some outside time in somebody’s backyard quite a bit.' \Concerned for the dog's safety, Jackson promptly contacted Indiana State Police and provided them with the SUV's license plate number. Authorities are currently working to identify the driver involved and have not yet confirmed whether any charges will be filed. The whereabouts of the dog and whether it is receiving adequate care remain unclear.
