The warnings stated that these stereotypes were 'wrong then and are wrong now.' However, Disney has recently reverted to a shorter warning: 'This program is presented as originally created and may contain stereotypes or negative depictions.' This update coincides with a broader trend of major companies, including Amazon, Starbucks, Ford, Target, Walmart, and Home Depot, scaling back their DEI initiatives since President Donald Trump took office.Concha cited Disney's nearly 60% stock decline after former President Joe Biden took office as evidence that its 'woke' remakes of classics are alienating audiences. He specifically mentioned the forced inclusion of diverse elements in films, such as the portrayal of a lesbian dog couple in a recent animated film, arguing that such attempts feel unnatural and excessive. Concha emphasized that while he supports individual choices and expression, these forced insertions into classic narratives are unwelcome and contribute to a growing sense of dissatisfaction among viewers.
