\nLess than a week after reports hit that a rough timeline was in place to begin laying off more than 7,000 staff members, The Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger confirmed in a memo this morning that the layoffs will be rolled out at three different time periods – with the first being today. 'This week, we begin notifying employees whose positions are impacted by the company's workforce reductions.
' And for those who aren't impacted by the layoffs, Iger added that 'there will no doubt be challenges ahead as we continue building the structures and functions that will enable us to be successful moving forward,' asking the staff for their 'continued understanding and collaboration during this time.
