Last October, the Pretoria High Court upheld an urgent application from Discovery to review a directive that stopped the Road Accident Fund from paying out for past medical expenses covered by medical aid.
JOHANNESBURG - Discovery Health said it’s bleeding some R2 million a day because of the Road Accident Fund 's continued reliance on a contentious new directive to stop paying out for past medical expenses covered by medical aid.
Now Discovery has turned to the bench once more in the hopes of securing special leave to execute the ruling pending the outcome of the appeal process. And Discovery’s case is that in the meantime despite having “made diligent use of every possible avenue” to obtain judicial redress for what the court has now agreed was unlawful conduct on the part of the RAF, it remains without a remedy.
