Di-Anna Arias of Don Strange of Texas showcases recipes for pumpkin bread with pecans, cream cheese swirl or chocolate chips served with pumpkin butter.
A bountiful fall table recently overflowed with pumpkin bread wrapped in autumn-hued napkins and parchment paper adorned with ribbons, gift boxes of pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, jars of pumpkin butter and notes of gratitude at Don Strange of Texas. This is where vice president of sales and culinary vision Di-Anna Arias brings food to life. Recipes are passed down with stories at this 72-year-old San Antonio family business on Bandera Road that isn’t afraid to add in new traditions.
San Antonio restaurants serving turkey dinners The University of Texas at San Antonio graduate met the late Don Strange while helping at the Witte Museum's annual Game Dinner in 1985. After Arias joined the Don Strange team and was named director of sales and marketing, her parties got a lot bigger, from planning events at the White House in 1990 in honor of George H.W. Bush to King Ranch's 150th anniversary in 2003.
