Former Victorian Liberal Party president Michael Kroger says the Albanese government’s handling of the Qatar Airways situation has been “disastrous”. The Labor government has faced backlash for its rejection of an application by Qatar Airways to implement more flights to Australia. “Why isn’t it possible to give a simple explanation? And of course, there probably is one,” Mr Kroger said. “The more mess Labor gets into over this, the more people think there is something suspicious about it all. “A simple explanation would get this off the front pages – it would save Labor a lot of political damage.”
