We visited Lytham's top-rated steak restaurant where the star of the show was a chunk of lettuce
Last weekend, spurred on by the glorious sunshine and blue skies, my daughter made me promise to take her to the seaside. And so I took her, and her best friend Amelia, to Lytham for the afternoon.
Fortunately a quick, last minute search on TripAdvisor threw up exactly what I was looking for: a dedicated steakhouse that was also the second highest rated in Lytham. Miller and Carter opened its Lytham restaurant in 2017 and seems to have quickly become a firm favourite among locals and tourists alike.
Our waitress, described as a "steak expert", was incredibly attentive even though we were sitting outside and we had hardly had a sip of our drinks before my fried calamari starter arrived. On Sundays Miller and Carter offer a three-course £31.50 menu for grown-ups while the girls chose from the £12.50 'young guests' menu.
The kids didn't want to miss out and both went for the children's rump steak which they loved. They seemed surprised when I said beef comes from a cow. The kids of today eh?
