The Department of Homeland Security just announced it oversaw the first removal flight since 2018.
The U.S. Border Patrol apprehended just 342 Chinese migrants in 2021, a number that grew to nearly 2,000 the following year and then skyrocketed to 24,124 in FY 2023. Already in FY2024, the number has reached 31,175, with several months to go.
The effort appears to be part of President Biden’s recent executive actions to secure the southern border.he discussed new policies on all migrants who entered the United States unlawfully.
