Over the weekend, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement deported 116 Chinese nationals who did not have a lawful basis to remain in the U.S., the Department of Homeland Security earlier this year. A DHS statement said this flight was “the result of Secretary Mayorkas’ continued efforts to engage the PRC on areas of mutual interest,” adding that the U.S.
The DHS disclosed that the flight was its first large charter flight since 2018. The agency's statement did not disclose details about the migrants, but it referenced efforts to"reduce and deter irregular migration and to...The United States sent a group of migrants back to China on the first large deportation flight there since 2018, and said on Tuesday that it was working with Chinese authorities to arrange additional flights.
