Two Columbus companies are slated to add 90 new jobs as part of a $123.4 million statewide economic expansion, according to a joint release issued by the office of Gov. Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Development.

The local projects are among seven total across Ohio that have been approved by the Ohio Tax Credit Authority . The release confirms that the entire package will create 1,328 new jobs while retaining 905 current positions. "As our economy grows and more opportunities are created across the state, investing in workforce housing ensures that the people powering Ohio's success can live and thrive in the communities they serve," DeWine said in the release.manufacturer expects to create 60 jobs and build a 175,000-square-foot facility. The news release states the project was approved for a 1.195% seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit.The advisory firm plans to create 30 jobs and lease 18,000 square feet of new space. A Department of Development report notes the TCA approved a 1.813% eight-year tax credit for the expansion. Lt. Gov. Jim Tressel added his own statement explaining that this growth "brings the need for more housing to ensure people have a place to call home," while Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik noted in the release that the state is working to "restore and preserve" structures to serve neighborhoods for generations.Other major projects identified in the state’s report include 520 new jobs at Vertiv Corporation in Ironton and 290 jobs at APAR USA LLC in Frazeysburg.
