A 28-year-old man from Devon has achieved remarkable weight loss by consistently playing football every week for the past year. Kieran Duke, hailing from Exeter, embarked on his weight-loss journey after gaining weight during his final year of university. He initially weighed 17 stone (107.9kg) when he joined the Man v Fat weight loss program in Exeter in 2024. Since then, he has shed an impressive 3.5 stone (22.2kg). 'I have lost just over 20% of my body weight,' stated Kieran.
'I never thought I'd be returning to a place where I consider myself quite healthy.' He expressed his satisfaction with his progress, saying, 'I'm now competing in half marathons and being able to participate in football each week and feel like I'm accomplishing something.' Kieran also observed a positive impact on his confidence in daily life. 'My partner has noticed a difference in me being generally happier about myself, and that transfers into day-to-day life.'The Man v Fat program operates weekly, where players are weighed before engaging in a 30-minute six-a-side football match.
